Halona Blowhole – Ohana Circle Island Tour finds Oahu’s natural coves

Halona Blowhole

Thousands of years ago when volcanoes were still active in Oahu, Koko Crater’s lava flowed into this area of the ocean. The molten lava tubes that occurred thousands of years ago formed the natural occurrence we now kn0w as Halona Blowhole. The lava tubes extend into the ocean which are narrow at the top and, when the surf is favorable, this blowhole can shoot sea spray up to thirty feet high in the air. The geyser is most active when the tide is high and the winds are strong. On a calm and clear day, the island of Moloka’i can also be observed in the distance.

Amazing video of Haleakala National Park in Maui!

If you make it off of Oahu and get to visit Maui, Haleakala National Park is a must see! It’s like another world when you make it to the summit. Many head up for the sunrise but make sure you get a reservation for your car and wear warm clothes. It gets very cold up on the summit but the view is worth it.

Brunch in Hawaii

In my time spent in Hawaii, I’ve learned that there are two things you just can’t go wrong, ordering off the breakfast/ brunch menu when deciding to go out and spend $60 on a meal that you could have made at home for $6. And that my friends are Hawaiian Pancakes and Eggs Benedict. Egghead in Kakaako located ten minutes outside Waikiki is a great spot to grab yourself a hot coffee and start the day off with that hearty meal to get you through your hike or afternoon surf sesh.Brunch in Hawaii | Honolulu, HI | Egghead CafeOne of the best places to eat in Oahu, Hawaii | Egghead CafeEgghead Cafe for your brunch in Hawaii | Ohana Circle Island Tour
